This page explains what personal data I collect through matbennett.com and the Agency Loop, what I do with it, and how to have it removed. I’m based in the UK and handle personal data under the UK GDPR.
Who I am
This site and the Agency Loop are run by Mat Bennett through Geosop Ltd, company number 11534657. Geosop Ltd is responsible for your data and is registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office, registration number ZB241925. If you have any questions or requests, email [email protected].
What I collect and why
Sign-up forms (Try This, the Agency Loop, the Mixer, events). Your email address, your name and, if you give it, your agency’s website. I use them to send you what you signed up for and nothing else. If you sign up for the Mixer, I also register you for the Zoom meeting and send you a calendar invitation. Every email has an unsubscribe link. The legal basis is your consent.
Contact form. Your name, email address and message. I use them to reply to you. The legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering people who get in touch.
The Agency Loop survey. Your work email address, your answers about your agency (which may include cash flow, pipeline, workload, finances and how you win work), and any comments you write.
I use this to:
- send you the reports and invitations to future rounds
- analyse and publish combined results
- compare results across rounds, so the Loop can show how things change over time
Before I analyse the responses, I replace your email address with a code. The dataset I work from contains no names or email addresses. You get the same code each round, which is what lets me track trends across the panel. The list that links each code to an email address is kept separately, and only I can access it. Because that link exists, the law still treats your answers as personal data, and so do I.
I only ever publish combined figures. I may quote comments word for word, but never with your name or your agency’s name unless you’ve agreed. If you want to stay fully anonymous, leave identifying details out of your written answers.
The legal basis is your consent, which you give when you enter your email address on the survey.
Visiting this site
This site doesn’t use cookies, so there’s no cookie banner. I use Promptwatch for visitor analytics. It records the page you visit, the page that sent you, your browser language and your time zone. It sets no cookies and stores nothing on your device.
The forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to block spam, which processes technical information such as your IP address and browser. Videos on the NDQ page load from youtube-nocookie.com, and only after you click play. Once you do, YouTube may store data on your device under its own privacy policy.
Who processes data for me
I use these services to run the site and the Loop:
- Tally: the survey forms
- MailerLite: email lists and sending
- Make: passing form sign-ups to the right place
- Google Workspace: email, calendar invitations, and storing original survey exports
- Zoom: Mixer registration and the online event
- Cloudflare: website hosting and spam protection
- Attio: my contact records, including Loop and Mixer contacts
- Promptwatch: site analytics
- AI tools (Anthropic’s Claude): help analysing coded survey data. They never see names or email addresses.
I don’t sell your data or share it with anyone else. Some of these providers store or process data outside the UK. Where they do, the transfer is covered by UK adequacy regulations or by contractual safeguards the provider has in place.
How long I keep it
- Mailing lists: until you unsubscribe. I keep a record of the unsubscribe so I don’t email you again.
- Contact form messages: 2 years.
- Survey responses: I keep coded responses indefinitely, because long-term trends are the point of the Loop. Original exports with email addresses: 12 months.
If you ask, I’ll delete your email address, the link between it and your code, and any original exports that include you. After that, your past answers can’t be traced back to you.
Your rights
You can ask to see the data I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or restrict or object to how I use it. You can withdraw your consent at any time. Email [email protected]. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this page changes, I’ll update the date at the top.
