Black eyed susanAs part of the Trafalgar 200 anniversary events at Portsmouth historic dockyard a Rope’s End Theatre Company, who we know several members of, put on some street theatre this weekend.

The play, Black Eyed Susan, was compressed to about 25 minutes and performed near the busy main entrance to the dockyard. I have to confess that street theatre is not something that I would usually imagine myself standing in the cold to watch (unless maybe I was drunk and in the mood to heckle), but it was really quite entertaining.

Lou and Steve Leaving

LouLou and Steve are heading back to Oz, so we headed over the Brighton this weekend to say goodbye once again.

Despite the rail system’s best efforts to stop us, we all made it to Brighton and met up in the Lion & Lobster pub for a Sunday roast, a few drinks and some good jazz.

Finally got the kayaks wet again!

KayakingWe finally managed to get the kayaks in the water again today after too many weeks of them being allowed to dry out. Only put them in over the road from home, but got a few hours out there is some reasonable waves.

Rick, Squeak and Carrie (who managed to avoid the camera!) came down with us - albeit a few hours later than planned. Mum and Jacob also joined us after a while.
